Amos was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma in 1944. He is married to Michelle and they have children.
Amos served the US Army from 1964 – 1976, 3 of those years being in Vietnam

Amos also served as a Federal Indian Police Officer from Riverside Indian School where he retired.
