James T. Arreak is an Inuit leader from Nunavut, Canada, dedicated to advancing Indigenous governance, community development, and the wellbeing of northern peoples. Born and raised in the Arctic, James brings the resilience, cultural grounding, and teachings of Inuit life into every leadership role he undertakes.

He currently serves as Vice President at Qulliq Energy Corporation, the territorial utility responsible for providing electricity to all 25 remote communities across Nunavut.

James holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western University, a Bachelor of Commerce from Trinity Western University, and a Certificate in Indigenous Development from Harvard University.

Throughout his career, James has worked across government, Inuit organizations, and corporate sectors to create opportunities for Inuit employment, education, and economic participation. He has played a key role in initiatives that build Inuit capacity, strengthen partnerships, and support long-term community resilience. His governance experience includes guiding Indigenous-led trust funds and conservation organizations that protect land, culture, and future generations.

Fluent in Inuktitut and English, James is recognized for bridging perspectives and leading with both heart and strategic clarity. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to Inuit self-determination and the belief that strong communities thrive when Indigenous voices lead the way.

James is married to Looee, and together they have six children.
